History

Aflac, Incorporated is an international holding company based in Columbus, GA. American Family Life Insurance Company was founded on November 17, 1955 by three brothers, John, Paul and Bill Amos and introduced one of the world's first cancer insurance policies in 1958. In its first year of operations, Aflac had 6,426 policyholders and $388,000 in assets; now, Aflac is a Fortune 500 company.
