Coach Cecil Espy’s professional baseball career began in 1980 when he was selected No. 8 overall by the Chicago White Sox in the MLB Draft. Coach Espy played eight years in the major leagues with some of baseball’s most prestigious teams. His impressive resume includes playing with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1983), the Texas Rangers (1987-1990), the Pittsburgh Pirates (1991-1992), and the Cincinnati Reds (1993).
From 1996-2006, Coach Espy coached the Arlington Wizards select baseball team. He currently spends his summers coaching with the Dallas Panthers select baseball team organization. From 2001-2006 he was head coach at Fort Worth Country Day School with a record of 76-49. Cecil is currently serving as the assistant coach for Omar Washington at First Baptist Academy in Dallas, where he has been coaching since 2007.
