Jones is a long and rangy 6-3, 189 lb infielder from Mississippi. He has very smooth defensive actions with soft hands and gliding easy actions through the ball. Jones is plenty athletic enough to move to third base or even second base if he gets too much bigger as he matures. He is a 6.59 runner in the 60. Offensively, Jones has loose, quick hands and a long and extended swing with natural lift and very good bat speed. He should continue to develop as a hitter as he fills out and gets stronger. Jones has given a verbal commitment to Louisiana State University, but his tools and size make him a definite early round draft candidate.
