Currently coaching at St. Francis Catholic High School, Kevin Maris previously experienced tremendous success coaching at Oak Hall School in Gainesville, FL.  While at Oak Hall, a Division 2A school, Coach Maris’ teams have played competitively against some of the toughest Division 5A and 6A high schools in Florida – a state well known for grooming outstanding baseball talent.  Oak Hall has made the Florida Final Four State Championship (1994-1996) and made the state tournament 11 out of the past 13 years.  In 2001, Coach Maris was named the head coach of the North Squad for the Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s High School All-Star Game. He was Head Coach of the 2006 AFLAC East Team and has been an assistant 2007-09. Kevin is now coaching at.

He has worked with such top prospects as pitcher Michael Main, hitter/speedster Derrick Robinson (one of the fastest 60 times ever run at 6.19) and LeVon Washington (MLB Tampa Bay Rays 1st round selection in 2009). MLB Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher Marty Janzen is another prodigy affiliated with Coach Maris. Each summer Coach Maris runs his Kevin Maris Baseball Camp in the first few weeks of June.  He and one of his assistants John Colacci recently initiated the Florida Hardballers – an 18U traveling team for dedicated young high school players aspiring to play at the next level. 

Coach Maris has a wife, Jennifer, three daughters (Patricia ,Olivia & Maranda) and is the son of former New York Yankees Single-Season Homerun King Roger Maris, known for hitting 61 home runs in 1961.
