Lorenzen is another of the top two-way prospects in the 2010 draft class. He's a slope shouldered and slender 6-2, 175 lb Southern Californian with some deceptive present strength and very good projection. Lorenzen's big tool is his arm strength. He threw 99 mph during outfield drills at the Perfect Game National Showcase and has outstanding on line carry on his throws and his 6.8 speed should give him plenty of range. Lorenzen's swing is smooth and loose and he has present gap power. On the mound, Lorenzen throws in the 90-93 mph range from a smooth athletic, balanced delivery. His 77 mph curveball shows promise of being at least an average big league pitch and he projects to improve his overall stuff if he should ever become a full-time pitcher. Lorenzen has a verbal commitment to Cal State Fullerton. He also has early round draft potential.
