SAN DIEGO – On Tuesday, May 18, Aflac was joined by representatives from the San Diego Padres, San Diego Hall of Champions and Rady Children's Hospital to announce the 2010 Aflac All-American Baseball Classic. The country’s premier high school baseball showcase will be played Sunday, August 15 at PETCO Park.
The East vs. West match-up featuring 38 of the nation’s best high school players will be nationally-televised live on FOX Sports Net. Among those already committed to playing in the Aflac All-American Baseball Classic are San Diegans Daniel Camarena (Cathedral Catholic High School) and Phillip Evans (La Costa Canyon High School). Camarena has verbally committed to playing college baseball at the University of San Diego and Evans has committed to San Diego State University.
General admission tickets will cost $5 and are on sale now. Groups of 20 or more will receive 50% off ticket prices. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Rady Children’s Hospital. Tickets will be available for purchase at the PETCO Park Box office, online at www.padres.com, by phone at (619) 795-5555, at San Diego-area PETCO stores and at the Padres Store in Tijuana.
